Bow was born June 2006 in the USA and I imported him in April 2007. He was the very first liver import to be registered here in the UK with the Kennel Club and caused upset within the show fraternity! Since his arrival in 2007 other hobby breeders caught the liver bug and successully imported more livers into the Country and then began re-introducing the colour on UK soil.
Granted Bow is not to everyones liking (PP). However, we cannot forget that I imported him to reproduce for the pet market and add a little diversity into the breed! His colouring and hip score has in the past come up against a lot of criticisim. He attracted a mixed opinion amoungst pet/show breeders and self appointed GSD police, who believe its wrong to produce a colour which is not to breed standard and who have constantly battered this boy on dog forums...(perhaps I should have named him ICEMEADS MR CONTROVERSY) Yet I'm a firm believer of the saying if they're picking on us this week they're leaving others alone, but don't worry we can take it!
He sired 5 litter's both long and standard coats, some of which have gone onto reproduce the colour and one day lead the way to seeing it becoming more and more available at hopefully a reasonable price! However it is fair to say that some unscruplious breeders will no doubt charge over the odds and advertise them as rare, so don't fall for it, don't pay it and make sure the parents are hip scored.!
In a nutshell Bow is a wonderful fellow, sweet natured, extremely mellow and a terrific house dog. He proved to be a very accomplished stud dog and was always very eager to get the job done...He's now happily retired and living by the North East Coast with Sue and her family..!
